  • As long as republishing is not required, the backwards compatibility with 2013 is not a concern
  • Upgrade path would be as follows:
    • Upgrade to Web 8.x (9?)
    • Replace data DD4T providers with the latest DD4T/DXA 2.0 versions
    • Keep rest of application as is - everything else will just work thanks to data compatibility
  • New features made available due to new data model in DXA 2 would only be available after the content is republished.
